The Collins Legacy - Chapter One

Vanessa purchased a home. It was quite cheap. The seller told her that it included, “only the essentials.” She was surprised when she saw the “house”. She wanted something more, but this was the only thing she could afford.

“It’s better than nothing, I guess,” Vanessa said as she got into bed. It’s been a long day for her.

After she got into bed, she realized it was freezing. She tried to sleep, then it started snowing.

She got out of bed and put her jacket back on. She called a taxi and rode to the fire station. They offered free beds, showers, food, and heating for anyone who didn’t have the money for that stuff.

The beds were very cheap and uncomfortable, but it was better than sleeping outside, freezing to death. She managed to get a sufficient amount of sleep. After getting some food and taking advantage of the free gym usage, she decided to meet some neighbors around her new lot.

She walked up to a house, who’s residents seemed to be very rich.
She rang the doorbell and watched as a man walked up to the door.

“Hello! I’m Vanessa, your new neighbor,” Vanessa said.

“Oh, hello. I’m Devon. Come on in, you’ll freeze out here,” the man said.

The man showed Vanessa the living room and told her to take a seat.

He talked about how he had two sons and was a police officer. He also talked about his parents and explained how he earned his riches.

“Anyway, enough about me,” he said, “tell me about your family,”

“Oh, well… I have four siblings. A younger brother and a set of triplets. My father passed when I was a teenager, and my mother owns a five-star resort,” Vanessa said.

       “Wow!” he said.

They talked some more, then Vanessa headed home.

She visited Devon frequently. One day, he got flirty with her. She didn’t mind. He was quite nice and may make a good husband for her some day.

Vanessa started visiting every day, each day being as romantic as the last. Some kissing, some flirting.

Then, during one of their flirting sessions, a woman walked in.
